Remembering our Founder, Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai on his birth anniversary

Atul Ltd (Atul) was founded on September 5, 1947 by Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai, a legendary Indian, to create wealth in rural India, generate employment on a large-scale and make India self-reliant. It has manufactured many products for the first time in India. It serves the society, particularly in the areas of national priorities like education, empowerment and infrastructure. 

Kasturbhai Lalbhai was an institution par excellence, who made seminal contributions particularly in the fields of industry, education, culture and religion. His pioneering efforts helped transform a colonised and impoverished India to a land of emerging hopes and opportunities. He led a purposeful life imbibed with trusteeship, discipline, foresight, eye for detail and social purpose. 

In memory of Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai, the Company collaborated with sofa-makers of Patna, Bihar. As a token of appreciation and gratitude, the Company organised a small get-together of sofa-makers and distributed the school kits amongst their children, followed by dinner. These sofa-makers use Polygrip rubber adhesives to design a variety of upholstery.
